In Memoriam

One of the motivations behind creating this website and blog was my closest companion for the past 25 years. We shared a strong bond, and together we had dreams of buying a camper and embarking on cross-country adventures.

She played a pivotal role in inspiring me to journey to Texas in search of the original nuggets, just one of the many extraordinary escapades we embarked on. And she was fully onboard when we mapped out what the website and blog might look like. One of my texts to her was the new domain name and a request for her to write a welcome blog entry.

Regrettably, after several days of failed attempts to reach her, I became concerned and requested a wellness check since she resided about 800 miles away. Tragically, she was discovered deceased.

This devastating loss has irreversibly changed my life. In the future, I plan to create a dedicated page on this site in her memory. She was not just a close friend; she was my non-blood sister, confidante, travel companion, and always up for new experiences. Even on future trips, which won't be for a while, her spirit will forever accompany me.

For now, I would like to share a video I put together last night. In selecting the songs, I took care to respect copyright regulations. The first song, "Movin' Right Along," from The Muppet Movie, holds special significance as we often sang it during our road trips. The second song, "You've Got a Friend and Me," performed by Donny Osmond and Rosie O'Donnell, perfectly encapsulates our relationship.

Please note that I do not possess the rights to these songs, and they can be found on various music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, and others.

Album Covers:

Osmond, D, & O'Donnell, R. (2001). You've got a friend in me. On This is the moment. Decca.

Oz, F. (1979). Movin' right along. [song]. On The muppet movie (original soundtrack recording). Atlantic.
